Introducing Our Sister Company, Vonnen

Our sister company, Vonnen, has developed a first-of-its kind performance hybrid system for Porsche cars that adds 150hp and 150 lb/ft of torque on top of what the engine produces.

Called Shadow Drive, it is now available for 911s going all the way back to 1965 along with Boxster and Cayman.

Oil Temperature and Engine Life

Properly maintained 911 engines can last over 300,000 miles when oil temperature is kept in the optimal 180°-210°F range. As oil temperature rises engine life declines rapidly. If the temperature is too high the engine will fail in short order. But why?

When oil is the proper temperature the moving parts operate in hydrodynamic lubrication, are not in contact and wear very little. With rising temperature viscosity drops so metal-to-metal contact begins AND engine wear is greatly accelerated.
